Did you think that there wasn't much to know about Mermaids? Think again!
Microgaming came out with a new Mermaids game called the Ariana slot- so we'll be testing that. And we'll also be on the look out for casino promotions that involve the game.
32Red casino recently ran an offer for a Trip to Dubai at the Atlantis Hotel. This spectacular hotel is all about bring the underwater world into the hotel, so they linked the promotion to play on the new slot Ariana, plus Mermaids Millions and also Dolphin's Quest and Fish Party. Every 25 you bet on the game, 32Red gave 2 tickets out for the draw.
The new Ariana slot is set in an underwater world, just like it's older cousin Mermaids Millions, and stars the mermaid princess, Ariana. It's a five reel, 25 pay line slot with free spins (when you land 3 or more Starfish scatter symbols), plus it comes with stacked and expanding wilds.
We are always coming across weird and wonderful stories to do with Mermaids. We'll admit that this is more of a light entertainment section, but even so!
Like the small town in Florida called Weeki Wachee, north of Tampa, which claims to have more mermaids than humans.
This is the home of the Weeki Wachee Mermaids, a group of just under 30 mermaids who perform shows for the public in an underwater theatre. There are breathing tubes at the bottom of their performance area so that they can stay underwater for the full 30 minutes. There's a similar show in the Mermaid Bar Blitza in Sacrmento, but it's not as well done.
The mermaid show was started in the forties after the war, by former U.S. Navy sailor Newton Perry. The show now entertains a quarter of a million people a year. Pretty impressive.
